What is needed is to clearly define what acts by a Trump presidency would require a revolution by the people. All of us on the left love to endlessly repeat that Trump is bad, evil a fascist etc. We love to play the role of victim, and the morally superior etc.
But we never seem to get around to discussing what we're going to do if the worst happens.
What acts by Trump presidency would we accept? And which will we not accept?
By "accept" I mean we hold our nose and wait for the next election. By "not accept" I mean 100,000 Americans marching across the White House lawn and dragging Trump out. Where is the dividing line between acceptable actions and unacceptable actions?
Over the last year we're all read 10 billion words about this election. And at least in my reading I've not seen this crucial question addressed even once. Have you seen this discussed somewhere? If yes, please share a link.
The media has not called this out because of some desire to be seen as "fair" and, more importantly, not to lose viewers/readers. It has taken them far too long to realize that they took will be in Trump's crosshairs. I hope that they have not taken too long.
It was easy enough for the MSM to label someone like George Lincoln Rockwell an"American fascist", because that was his job description...but to then name a candidate of one of the two major parties in the US a fascist is a bridge too far. To detail fascistic tendencies of tRump but avoid the definitive descriptor has been and continues to remain the principal failing of the corporate media, for to do so - call tRump a fascist - would betray the view that "It can't happen here", and its corollary, "It's not who we are". It's just not "sanewashing' tRump's overtly fascistic remarks, but also the refusal to accept that ca. one-half of US voters have as well adopted tRump's home-grown fascism and how poorly this has reflected upon the American image and self-regard as well.
So, will the media at long last finally embrace the notion that, yes, the Orange Felon is indeed fronting for a fascistic movement, whose elements are pre-positioned to act immediately after tRump is sworn into office should he win the election? Very unlikely, not in the media genes, and we are in this battle on our own, and that's the salient fact, full stop.
Liberalism potently exploits egoism - calling for individual freedom (of enterprise) and forgetting the importance of collective values and equality of rights and endowments. Over time growth excels at the costs of increasing inequality -hollowing out middle society. Not paying attention to this gradual rise of inequality is liberalism’s blindness. Trump does not come from nowhere. His fascist features are an outgrowth of 40 years of extreme liberalism.
Thanks very much. But are you suggesting that the rise of fascism would be impeded by some form of collectivism and greater state controls? Certainly the Soviet Union was an example where those policies quickly gave way to defacto fascism.
But your point is well taken and makes one think. Thanks again

Liberalism breeds fascism!
Please explain
